David W. Dils is Vice President, Integrated Fighter Group Line of Business Engineering, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. He is responsible for leading and delivering engineering design, production and sustainment support across the Integrated Fighter Group portfolio which includes F-22, F-16, F-2 and T-50 weapon systems. Mr. Dils was named to his current position in August 2022.
Mr. Dils is an experienced leader with more than 20 years of leadership in engineering, and program management roles, having a proven track record of delivering advanced capabilities on many of Lockheed Martin’s programs, including F-22, F-35, and Advanced Development Programs. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as the Director, Combat Air Modernization Improvements and Derivatives, responsible for delivering state of the art capability improvements, developing strategic modernization strategies and transitioning technologies to Lockheed Martin’s Combat Air fleet.
Previously, he was a Program Manager in Signature Management and F-22 Improvements and Derivatives where he transitioned new, advanced capabilities to F-22, F-35 and ADP platforms. Additionally, he was responsible for strategic development and management of the internal research and development portfolios and served as the Chairman, New Business Committee for Signature Management.
Mr. Dils began his career with Lockheed Martin in 2002 and has contributed to a variety of programs as an engineer, project manager, program manager, and part of the leadership team.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso and a MS in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Dils is a published technical author and holds two patents for advanced technologies. He is a graduate of the Advanced Technical Leadership Program and has completed training at the Lockheed Martin Center for Leadership Excellence..
